Some of this is for children and some isn't.

After a celebration meal, again at their favourite raw fish restaurant, the Prescotts and Suzanna returned to the mansion in the sky. Mr. and Mrs. Prescott amused themselves with some music. Patricia played the piano and Ryan watched and listened. Suzanna and Zara went straight to the pool to watch the geckoes and other little creatures either lazing ...

... Sunday had the audacity to disappear quicker than most any other day. Before anyone knew what they wanted to do, it was Monday morning and many people were back to work or school.

Sally figured it was time to wrap up the silly story she had started. It had seemed more exciting at the beginning. Maybe it was too allegorical and that kind of thing can get tedious on account it had to obey the poetic justice rule. ...

... “Bitch.”
Was the last thing he said before he landed on his head. It cracked open on the ground and soon he was dead.

“You hammered your opponent, Zara.”
“She was rude.”
“Your style is a wonder to watch. Where did you learn to fight like that.”
“The style is mostly from my dad. ” ...

... “He’s got great potential. I think he could be ready for Vegas this summer if he could spend some time with you. Perhaps we could have Zara ready by then as well.”
“Vegas. You think Zara is that good.”
“She is. I think she knows it.”

Asteroid Revisited
It’s not so easy to remember back million years ago. We have to rely a little on speculation and fossil records. There is some memory still in our brains but not really active. The very basics of the framework are still there. The mammals that were our ancestors were there. They were likely only two or three species of mammals at that time. ...

... The question was time flying by. A lot had happened on the planet in the last 600 million years. If we can avoid the extinction that we are executing in our recklessness, the next 600 million years really will be bleeding wild.
We will be the gods.

Zara went home straight after basketball practice. She knew dinner was waiting for her. Her father had tracked him down the night before. A priest that had been charge with molesting 63 choir boys. Prescott had decided against representing him. He didn’t want that kind of association. The guy was a real mad man. ...

... “Turns out the old rapist does have a good heart.”
Her mother smiled at Zara’s little joke and went in to eat. She also cleaned up and after putting most of the meat aside threw the rest in the incinerator.

Randy took a break from reading to see what the excitement was on the TV. There were usually a few people sitting or standing around in front of it but seldom were they all watching it. However, tonight was cage fighting. Everyone loved it. Vicarious violence. ...

... “No Howard. She’s not. And she fights as good as the stories tell us.”
“I’m sure we’ll see more of…”
Randy and the Captain went back to the lounge and left the men to watch the other fights.

Sally and Billy had taken some more time off from thinking about or preparing for a hit to remember what it was like to act like kids. It was not easy to just have fun living in the projects. Many kids their age were hooked on some kind of drug or they got drunk a lot. Some teenagers were blowing old guys for whatever they could get. Sometimes they just robbed them. ...

... towns it looks like they seldom see any money and are happy to see you. We stayed in a few fishing villages. It was like being in a different time. Some of the old people don’t speak English. In the villages. They are almost always kind and gentle. I wrote a story. Too allegorical. I’ll write more. In between all the hugs the locals give us.
Love Sally.

Randy found a short story on the Internet. He wasn’t sure a short story was a good idea. Why bother. But he had learned about Grimm and Aesop. Managed a bunch of them one day. So he tried one.
Four Kids Landed on Mars ...

... Randy closed the page and went back to searching for topics on evolution. It fascinated him that the world had been so different. The idea of no humans seemed like a fantastic idea until you knew about time. How much time. Out of all that time just the smallest bit was anything like it was for Randy and everyone else alive.
